The
teaching hospital of our institution is
a majestic 7 storey building plus a basement
providing a land mark not to be missed on
the Bathinda Barnala highway. It has got
a capacity of 750 beds and is a multispeciality
hospital in a true sense.It is the beginning
of a vision leading ultimately to a mini
postgraduate institute in this region of
Punjab. The hospital has an entrance lobby
which provides a splendid view and a visual
comfort to the patients, having enough space
to seat more than 300 patients and their
attendants waiting for their registration,
buying medicines at the pharmacy on one
side or simply waiting for the relatives.
The emergency is conveniently located close
to the main entrance from the highway for
easy and quick access to the emergency.
An emergency labour room along with the
main gynecological O P D is again conveniently
located for easy access to the female patients.
The out patient departments are present
on three floors divided grossly into surgical,
medical and allied for all the subjects
of M.B.B.S. courses plus super specialties
of neurosurgery, neuromedicine, pediatric
surgery, nephrology, urology, cardiology,
gastroenterology etc. The OPDs are best
equipped for examining the outdoor patients.
The intensive care wing has got intensive
critical care unit, intensive cardiac care
unit, pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal
intensive care unit plus a renal dialysis
wing.
The investigative departments are equipped
with latest state of the art instruments
and equipment for X-RAY, CT Scan, MRI, biochemistry,
pathology, microbiology etc. supported by
ultra sound, colour Doppler, audiometry
lab, treadmill etc.
The hospital has got a blood bank with most
modern facilities.
The hospital has also got special rooms
with deluxe facilities.
There are in all about 10 operation theatres
with piped in facilities for vital supplies
needed during operation.
Urban Health Center, Bhucho Mandi
(Bhucho), Bathinda
The Institution has established an Urban
Health Centre at Bucho Mandi at a distance
of 3 km.s from the college. A population
of 32,000 is covered under study area. The
P.S.M. department organizes teaching programmes
and field visits. Medical Office is posted.
Students are posted in batches. Seperate
male and female wards are provided for patient
care. Delivery services are available. Immunization
services, antenatal care & MCH services
are organied. Facilities for diagnostic
investigations and minor Surgery are also
available. Family welfare activities and
activities under the national programmes
are also carried out.
Rural Health Training Center, Bhallaiana
(Muktsar)
R.H.T.C., Bhallaiana is under the
administrative control of the Director Principal
of the college and PSM Department. Services
of Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics &
Gynecology are available for the patients.
The P.S.M. department organizes teaching
programmes and field visits. Medical Officer
with M.D.qualification is available. The
senior faculty from the college is posted
in rotation for patient care & diagnosis.
Lady Medical Officer is available. Students
are posted in batches. Separate male &
female wards are provided for patient care.
Antenatal and immunization services are
provided at the center and in the field.
The labour room is well equipped. Investigation
facilities for basic investigations, X-ray,
ECG, Minor O.T., Injection room etc. are
available. All the vaccines provided under
UIP are available. Family welfare activities
and activities under the national programmes
are also carried out.
The Medical College
Adesh
Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is a medical college with 150 students intake
capacity per year as approved by the Medical
Council of India, Ministry of Health &
Family Welfare, Govt. of India and Adesh University.
The admission procedure is as laid down
by the Adesh University. All the teaching departments of
basic sciences are equipped with state of
the art modern equipments, instruments and
teaching aids. The institute has lecture
halls with ample seating capacity and equipped
with multimedia and other audiovisual facilities
along with sound amplifying systems with
special emphasis laid on participatory teaching.
The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled.
The medical college has got a spacious library
present on the second & third floors.

cost to the students. The library also has
got a huge reading room for the students
to bring their own study material to pursue
in a peaceful and temperature controlled
environment.
There is continuous uninterrupted power
supply to the hospital, college, hostels
and residential complexes. Students can
have access to to air-conditioned and air-cooled
rooms in the hostels. RO systems are installed
at all the strategic areas in hospital,
college and hostels for continuous supply
of clean water. Wholesome veg. and non-veg.
food is available in the hostels.
Computers have been provided to all the
departments of the college and teaching
hospital, thus helping the staff members
to update their knowledge and skills from
time to time. In addition a spacious examination
hall for students to appear in their departmental
or university examination has been provided.
The course of studies of M.B.B.S. leading
to the award of the degree of Bachelor of
Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
shall last a minimum of five and a half
academic years (including one year of compulsory
rotatory internship) and is subject to the
rules and regulations of the Adesh
University.

Admission into M.B.B.S. course is strictly
according to Punjab Govt. Notification. Admission under Government Quota: Eligibility, Selection of candidates
and Admission procedure will be as per BFUHS
prospectus/notification.
Admission under Management Quota:
MERIT SEATS (Including those reserved for
SC, BC, Handicapped and J&K Migrant
Candidates).
Eligibility :
- As per BFUHS prospectus /notification.
- The candidate must produce documentary
evidence of having been selected by Central
Admission Committee for MBBS course in AIMSR.
Application Procedure :
The application form submitted to AIMSR
by the selected candidates should be accompanied
by Appendix No 1 to 3 (as applicable).
NRI SEATS
As per BFUHS prospectus /notification.
Schedule of payment of Tuition
Fee for Management Quota (NRI Seats): The
entire tuition fee, along with hostel charges
& security, shall be payable at the
time of admission. Students admitted against
NRI Seats will be required to furnish at
the time of admission a bank guarantee for
the balance fee , if they opt to pay the
fee in installments. In case of installments
,US $ 40,000 will be payable at the time
of admission, US $ 17,500 before July 31
of the year and U$ 17,500 before July 31
of next year.
Mode of Payment of Tuition Fee:
Fee structure for M.B.B.S. course is strictly
according to Punjab Govt. Notification.
Government Quota and Management
Quota (Merit Seats):
All payments, including tuition fee, must
be paid either in cash against proper receipt
or Bank Draft drawn in favor of Principal,
Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and
Research Institute of Medical Sciences and
Research, Bathinda payable at Bathinda.
Mode of Payment of Tuition Fee for
Management Quota (NRI Seats):
All payments, including tuition fee, must
be made either in cash in US $ against proper
receipt or by a Demand Draft in US $ drawn
on any bank payable, preferably outside
India in favor of Principal, Adesh Institute
of Medical Sciences and Research Institute
of Medical Sciences and Research, Bathinda
except candidates selected under fourth
preference as given in BFUHS prospectus
who can pay the fees in cash or by Bank
Draft in Indian currency equivalent to the
stipulated fee.

ACADEMIC AWARDS
The following criteria have been laid down
for Academic Awards to MBBS students :
1 All awards will be based purely
on merit , as per performance in the MBBS
professional examinations. Instituitional
Gold , Silver and Bronze medals will be
awarded to first 3 students in each professional
examination , i.e. First MBBS , Second MBBS
. Final MBBS Part I and Final MBBS Part
II examination. Institutional Gold medal
will be given to the best Graduate of the
year based on the total marks in all professional
examinations. Merit certificates will be
given to first 3 students in each subject
in the University MBBS Professional Examinations.
