Adesh Polytechnic of Pharmacy & Technology, Bathinda offering Diploma programme in Pharmacy and Diploma in Medical Lab Technology established in 2006 as one of the finest polytechnic institution of Punjab conceived by Adesh Foundation. The institution is conventionally located about 12 kms from Bathinda on Bationda-Barnala Highway. Institution has been developed in 2 acres of land with imposing building, lush green campus & unpolluted environment with magnificent infrastructure. Eminent professionals are drawn from top Pharmacy institutions of the country as faculty members to impart professional education & create the future pharmacists and lab technolgists.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The institution is duly approved by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi, Affiliated to Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab, Chandiagrh and Govt. of Punjab.

Presently The Institute offers 2 years Diploma in Pharmacy & 3 years Diploma in Medical Lab Technology.

Total No. of seats sanctioned : 60 (sixty) in each course.

ELIGIBILITY

LABORATORIES

The institution has well equipped Laboratories with sufficient apparatus and equipments as per norms of the PCI and AICTE&IT.
Human Anatomy and Physiology/ Pharmacology Lab: Very well stocked Anatomy and Physiology Lab. with human skeleton, model charts, posters. Haemocytometers, BP apparatus, Stethoscopes, Shrington's Rotating Drum, Histamine Chamber, Pole-climbing apparatus etc.
P'ceutical Chemistry Lab: Well equipped Lab. with Centrifuge, Distillation unit,Fuming Chamber, Preparation room and attached Balance room.
Pharmaceutics Lab: Well equipped lab. with Coating pan, Hot air oven, Incubator,Tablet punching machine, Manual Capsule filling machine, Dissolution Apparatus,Friability Test Apparatus, Tablet Testing Machine etc.
Biochemistry/Pharmacognosy/HCP Lab: Well equipped labs with Centrifugal Machines, Diagnostic Kits, Crued Drugs, Microscopes, Permanent Slides, Herbal Garden, Surgical Instruments and Innovative Museum etc.

LIBRARY

The college has well stocked library.
The library has open access system so that the students can browse the books freely.
The library also subscribe to various national and international journals along with many daily newspapers, weeklies and magazines.
New books and journals depending upon the requirement are being added from time to time to the library.
The institution also has a central library at Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, located in the adjoining campus.
Xerox Machine
Library also has a Xerox machine and Xeroxing facility is provided to the students.

COMPUTING FACILITIES

The Institution has elaborate computing facilities accessible to the students. There is a modern state-of the - art Central Computer Centre for use by the students and scholars of AIMSR and College of Pharmacy - AIMSR in addition to the Departmental computer laboratories. Apart from a large number of PCs and several servers. There are also high quality laser printers, scanners, multimedia accessories, etc. Various software systems are available that run in environments such as UNIX/LINUX, MS-Windows-2000/NT/XP.

HOSTEL

We provide students a home away from home by providing them a homely environment. Great care has been taken to provide with all the facilities and maintaining the high standard of living and food. There is a continuous effort to see that facilities of sports and recreation to students are provided in the hostel. Full security is provided 24 hours in girls and boys hostel.

CANTEEN

There is a canteen in the campus, where healthy & wholesome hygienic stuffs are served at reasonable rates.

ATM FACILITY

ATM machine has been installed by State Bank of India at the college campus to provide students assess to easy money from their accounts.

TRANSPORT FACILITY

Institute also provides pick and drop-up deluxe bus services to the students and staff from nearby stations.

SPORTS FACILITY

For the healthy and sound development of the students, the institution encourages various sports activities, the campus has developed the excellent infrastructure for games like Football, Basketball, Kabaddi, Badminton etc. in addition to this there is also an athletic track. A well equipped and maintained gym facility has specially been provided to the students to maintain their figure.

MEDICAL CAMP

Free Medical camps are organized from time to time for better exposure of the students and to develop their diagnostic and treatment skills.

NSS CAMP

NSS unit has been established. NSS activities are being held regularly.

TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL

The college has very active Training & Placement Cell. The members of our Training & Placement Cell are collecting data of potential employers of the country in order to create linkage with pharma industry. The team is Reaching personally the pharma industry/organisations in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi etc. for proper placement of students.

EXTRA CURRICULAR & CO-CURRICUALR ACTIVITIES

Cultural and sports activities are an important part of academic agenda. The institution has a committed cell of co-curricular and extra curricular activities. Thus an attempt is always made to extract and polish the inherent abilities of the students through various channels. The institution has started taking part in sports and cultural activities at the state level competitions organised under Punjab Technical Instiutions' Sports and Extra Co-curricular activities body.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Industrial Pharmacy
Pharmacists are employed in Pharmaceutical industry in areas which include drug development, production, marketing, clinical trials and compiling applications to introduce new drugs.
Hospital Pharmacy
Hospital Pharmacists are responsible for the distribution of drugs within the hospital and are involved in educating patients and medical practitioners about the most appropriate use of medicines. Also in activities such as monitoring for drug interactions and participating in research projects directed towards improving methods of drug treatment.
Community Pharmacy
The Pharmacy Act requires that all community pharmacies are owned by Pharmacists, so many practitioners own and operate their Own Pharmacies. They supply and distribute medicinal and related products. Advice and counseling given by Pharmacists play an important role in maximizing the efficacy of the medication whilst minimizing side effects.
Research T
he Bachelor of Pharmacy is an excellent first step for those who have the ability and aptitude for research in Pharmacy or in any branch of medical research. Students then take a program leading to Master's degree or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.
Other career opportunities
Pharmacists are employed by various government agencies, both commonwealth and state, generally in positions concerned with the control, manufacture, supply and distribution of drugs and drug preparations. There are also some opportunities in defense services, customs and narcotics.
The job opportunities for Pharmacists & Lab. Technologists, in present scenario are at R&D, contract research as a teaching faculty and as community pharmacist / Medical Lab. Technogists in third world and developed countries.
